Before we get into the nitty gritty of making the Miss Fox Dress I'd like to welcome you all!  The lessons you'll learn with be enjoyable, frustrating, exciting, frustrating and finally exciting again.  You'll be learning techniques you've never learned before that will be quite challenging.  But don't despair, I'm here to help and you'll have a gorgeous new Miss Fox Dress to show for it at the end.

Let's Talk about Fabric

First up, I'm going to talk to you about what fabrics will suit the Miss Fox Dress. What fabric wouldn't suit it?
This would have to be the pattern that you could use any fabric you like.  From a beautiful cotton rayon to a gorgeous rich Dupion Silk. The choices are endless.

Maybe I should have called it the Hepburn Dress....after the exquisite Audrey Hepburn.  The Miss Fox Dress is very reminiscent of the 1950's waisted dresses. The dress Audrey Hepburn is wearing above is the bodice of the Miss Fox Dress with a full circle skirt and would be made from an Organza with a Taffeta lining. The other two dresses are made from cotton.

If you want a more structured dress where the skirt more or less sticks out rather than softly falls - then I would choose and heavy cottons, satins, stretch sateens, tafettas, cotton drill.

Made from embroidered Tulle with a satin lining. It also has a Miss Fox Skirt.
If you want a dress that is soft and the skirt is floaty - then I would choose chiffons, georgettes, rayons, voiles.

So, as you can see above you can make this pattern out of really any fabric and you'll always get a different look.....from casual to formal.

If you haven't bought your fabric yet.....enjoy choosing something gorgeous just for you.
