MODULE 3:2 - Fitting Your Skirt Toile
Now that you've got your bodice and skirt sewn together it's time now to fit your Toile to your shape.
Here's what you'll be looking for with your fitting:
Here's what you'll be looking for with your fitting:
- the side seam of the skirt runs vertical
- the waist and the hem line run parallel with the floor
- if the top two fittings aren't happening then you have a fitting problem with either your tummy, butt or sway back - but it will look quite evident when you have a lot of draping coming away from either the tummy, hip or butt area.

My Dress Toile above doesn't look too bad now that the Bodice has been attached but I'll still do a few fitting alterations:
- I'll be taking the side seam of the skirt from the hip right up to the underarm of the bodice - on both sides.
- Also, I'll be doing a sway back alteration in the bodice and the skirt.
