Molly Skirt - PDF pattern

The Molly Skirt is my first PDF pattern.  It is a gorgeous skirt with a flat front and pleats and an elastic back for ease and comfort.  Not a zip in sight was used!  It is finished with a tie that can be done up at the front or the back.

I designed this skirt to have some formality to it.  So it can be dressed up or dressed down.....your choice.  Also, it will make a great winter skirt.  Just use lightweight denim or corduroy and change the tie to a belt with a buckle and team it with a skivvy, tights and boots.

There are 4 styles for you to choose.  From the most basic to the more advanced.  So it's perfect for the beginner to advanced beginner.

Style 1

Style 1 is made from one fabric and while it is plain you can really made a stunning skirt with the right fabric.

Most of the fabrics I buy are from Etsy.  They are very affordable and you can guarantee that your little one will be the only stylish girl in her beautiful new skirt.

This style is perfect if you are just starting out in the creative sewing world.  Then when you get a bit more skilled and want to know more you can try one of the styles below.

Style 2

Style 2 is the same as Style 1 except for a contrast tie.  Now you are starting to see some creativity.  Play around with colours and patterns and see what you come up with.


This pattern is a beginner level but with lots of creativity happening.

Style 3

Style 3 is now getting a bit more advanced but you can do it......I promise!  Not only is there the pattern for styles 1, 2 and 4 but I've made a separate pattern for style 3.  I've got it covered for you.  

Now go and get creative!  See what you can do with the scrapes of fabric that I know you have in your fabric stash!  You can make an original creation just for you little one.

Style 4

Style 4 has a contrast binding around the hem.....but it is not hard to do.  Once you learn how it's done you will be doing this technique on all your future creations.  

It's a great way to incorporate a hint of contrast if you don't want  the panel and you can still go to town being creative.
